Understand inventory by location

FreshlyCart tracks a product’s stock quantity separately at each location. A product can therefore have different quantities at two stores even though both locations use the same product record.

How location inventory works

• In Back Office, a product with multiple locations shows Inventory by location. Each row has its own Quantity and Available here setting.
• Total quantity is the sum shown across the product’s location rows. It is not a separate quantity that employees edit.
• Turning off Available here prevents the product from being sold at that location. FreshlyCart preserves the location’s stock quantity.
• FreshlyCart Inventory uses the location selected for the employee session. New products, physical inventory counts, and purchase orders use that location where the workflow requires one.
• FreshlyCart POS uses its current location when evaluating product availability and stock activity.

Note

Changing stock at one location does not set the same quantity at every other location. Select the intended location before adding stock, counting products, or receiving a purchase order.

Where to review quantities

In Back Office, open a product and review Inventory. For a business with multiple locations, use Inventory by location to compare each location’s Quantity and Available here setting.
