Create a product

Create a product for an item or service you sell. Start with the basic sale details; you can configure advanced catalog options separately.

Create the product

1. In Back Office, open the catalog:
   • For a retail business, go to Management → Inventory → Items.
   • For a restaurant, go to Management → Menu → Products.
2. Open the action to create a product. The form is titled Create new product.
3. Enter the product Name.
4. Select a Category if you use categories to organize the catalog.
5. Enter the sale Price.
6. Select the applicable Taxes.
7. Keep Available for sale on so the product can appear in sale channels.
8. Under Inventory, enter a starting quantity when you need to track stock.
9. If you have multiple locations, turn on Available here for each location where the product should be sold.
10. Select Save.

What happens next

FreshlyCart saves the product and its location-specific inventory settings. Connect or sync FreshlyCart POS before looking for a newly created product there.

Variants, modifiers, composite products, and other advanced settings are outside this basic product workflow.
